Antonio Cromartie Says Playing For Cowboys Would Be His “Dream Choice”

Free agent CB Antonio Cromartie tells TMZ that his “dream choice” would be to play for the Cowboys.

“My dream choice? That’d be the Dallas Cowboys,” Antonio said. “That’s very high on my list.

There has been no buzz regarding Cromartie since free agency opened well over a month ago, so it unlikely he’ll secure an opportunity until after the draft.

Ian Rapoport reported that Cromartie was expected to visit with the Bills, but no visit has taken place up to this point, and even Cromartie said that this was news to him.

Following this release from the Jets, Darryl Slater of NJ.com reported that Cromartie would be interested in re-signing with the Jets at a lower salary, given that he “loves the Jets organization and coach Todd Bowles.”

Bowles didn’t completely rule out a return to New York for Cromartie, but it sounds like they plan to consider other options first.

Cromartie, 31, was in the second year of his four-year, $32 million contract that included $7 million guaranteed when he was released in a move that freed up $8 million in available cap space for the Jets.

In 2015, Cromartie appeared in 15 games for the Jets and recorded 29 tackles, a fumble recovery and 12 pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 86 cornerback out of 111 qualifying players.

We have him featured in our Best Available Free Agents list.
