Arian Foster Working Out For Dolphins Monday & Lions This Week

Update:

According to Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald, the Dolphins are expected to “seriously consider making an offer” to free agent RB Arian Foster on Monday, assuming he impresses Miami officials during the workout.

Although, Jackson admits that nothing is assured at this point in time.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that free agent RB Arian Foster (Achilles) is scheduled to work out for Dolphins on Monday and Lions later this week.

Last we heard, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN reported that Foster expects to be ready for training camp and is “hungry” to regain his prior form. Fowler added that at least three teams had recently inquired about Foster as of mid-June.

The expectation has been that Foster would begin working out for NFL teams at some point in July, as he was buying some additional time to ensure that he could pass a physical and be ready to go if an opportunity was available.

Several months ago, Foster visited with the Dolphins, but did not sign a contract with the team. The Broncos, Redskins, Raiders, Chargers, and Seahawks have also been tossed out as speculative landing spots for Foster.

Miami has seemed like the best option for Foster, considering that they weren’t able to sign any of the top free agent running backs this offseason.

Foster, 29, wound up signing on with the Texans as an undrafted free agent out of Tennessee back in 2009. He spent seven years with the Texans before they released him in a move that freed up $6,625,000 in cap space for Houston a few months ago.

In 2015, Foster ran for 163 yards on 63 carries (2.6 YPC) to go along with 22 receptions for 227 yards receiving and and three touchdowns.

We have him featured in our Best Available Free Agents list.
