Baker Mayfield “Definitely” In Conversation For Browns At No. 1 Overall

According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, Oklahoma QB Baker Mayfield is “definitely” in the conversation for the Browns to be the No. 1 overall pick in this year’s draft.

Mayfield joins Sam Darnold and Josh Allen as players linked to the Browns at the top of the draft.

The recent consensus has been that the Jets are the team to watch for Mayfield, but it appears as though there’s at least a chance he could be the first pick.

It’s worth mentioning that the Browns hired Scot McCloughan as a consultant and he’s on record saying that Mayfield is his top quarterback in the draft.

Mayfield, 23, is considered by some evaluators to be the top quarterback prospect in this year’s draft and he should be a top-five pick when all is said and done.

During his four-year college career at Texas Tech and Oklahoma, Mayfield threw for 14,607 yards while completing 68.5 percent of his passes to go along with 131 touchdowns and 30 interceptions over the course of 48 games. He also rushed 1,083 yards and 21 touchdowns.

Mayfield was the 2017 Heisman Trophy winner.
