Bashaud Breeland Says Redskins Never Made Him An Offer To Return

Free agent CB Bashaud Breeland mentioned on his Instagram account Sunday that the Redskins never made him an offer to return to Washington this offseason.

Last week, JP Finlay of NBC Washington mentioned that while Breeland still has yet to sign with a new team after his deal with the Panthers fell through, a return to the Redskins still is not expected.

Breeland and the Panthers agreed to a three-year, $24 million deal that includes $11 million guaranteed and $9.5 million fully guaranteed. However, he later failed a physical due to a foot injury and there hasn’t been any reported interest in him since then.

Breeland, 26, is a former fourth-round pick of the Redskins back in 2014. He played out the final year of his four-year, $2.706 million contract and made a base salary of $690,000 for the 2017 season.

Breeland is testing the free agent market for the first time in his NFL career.

In 2017, Breeland appeared in 14 games for the Redskins and recorded 48 tackles, one interception returned for a touchdown and 16 pass defenses. He also contributed 280 kick return yards. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 54 cornerback out of 120 qualifying players.

We have him featured in our Top 50 Available 2018 NFL Free Agents list.
