Baylor DE Shawn Oakman Arrested On Sexual Assault Charge

According to Tommy Witherspoon of The Waco Tribune, Baylor DE Shawn Oakman was arrested by Waco police Wednesday on sexual assault charges from an incident that took place a few weeks ago.

Oakman allegedly sexually assaulted a Baylor student after leaving a Waco nightclub early Sunday morning. Oakman said that the sexual contact was consensual, but police still searched his residence on April 3.

Oakman allegedly “forced” teh women into a bedroom and “forcibly removed” her clothes, “forced” her onto the bed and sexually assaulted her, according to the affidavit.

Witherspoon mentions that court documents show that officers seized two comforters, a fitted sheet and a flat sheet from Oakman’s bedroom.

The records also show that woman went to the hospital after the alleged assault and was examined by a sexual assault nurse examiner.

Oakman is a prospect in this year’s draft class. However, with this disturbing news, it isn’t worth focusing on his draft stock, as he could be facing serious legal issues.

During his three years at Baylor, Oakman recorded 128 tackles, 46.5 tackles for a loss, 17.5 sacks, eight forced fumbles, three recoveries and three pass defenses.
