Bears Activating OLB Pernell McPhee From PUP List

Brad Biggs reports that the Bears are activating OLB Pernell McPhee from their physically unable to perform list.

Earlier today, Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reported that the Bears were expected to keep McPhee on the PUP list to open the 2017 season, so this is great news for Chicago.

McPhee has dealt with knee injuries since joining the Bears and he opened training camp on the PUP list.

McPhee, 28, is a former fifth-round pick of the Ravens back in 2011. He spent four years in Baltimore before signing a five-year, $38.75 million contract that included $15.5 million guaranteed back in 2015.

McPhee stands to make base salaries of $6.95 million and $7.2 million over the next two years.

In 2016, McPhee appeared in nine games for the Bears and recorded 16 tackles, four sacks, and a forced fumble.
