Bears Believe LB Danny Trevathan Suffered Major Knee Injury, May Have Torn ACL

Bears HC John Fox told reporters after Sunday’s loss to the Titans that they believe LB Danny Trevathan suffered a serious knee injury that could be a torn ACL, per Ian Rapoport.

Trevathan is scheduled to undergo an MRI on Monday, but this is obviously very concerning news for one of the team’s notable free agent signings.

Trevathan, 26, is a former sixth-round pick of the Broncos back in 2012. After four years in Denver, Trevathan signed a four-year, $24.5 million contract that includes $12 million guaranteed. He stands to make a base salary of $1.5 million this year and another $2 million in 2017.

Entering today’s game, Trevathan has appeared in eight games and recorded 61 tackles, one sack, and four pass defenses for the Bears.

We’ll have more regarding Trevathan’s injury as the news is available.
