Bears Believe Matt Forte Has A High-Ankle Sprain

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the Chicago Bears believe RB Matt Forte suffered a high-ankle sprain during Thursday’s loss to the Green Bay Packers.

Forte left the game after twisting his ankle while being tackled by Charles Woodson. The loss of Forte seemed to have an impact on the team’s offensive approach for the remainder of the game, but other issues led to the team’s miserable performance.

High-ankle sprains usually require a player to miss close to four weeks, but can also last beyond that depending on the severity of the injury, as well as the players’ ability heal.

For the Bears, they’ll have to rely on Michael Bush for the next few weeks, assuming that Forte does in fact have a high-ankle sprain. Forte could be limited even after returning, so this is hardly the type of news that Bears were hoping to get after just 2 games. Fantasy owners will almost certainly have to look elsewhere in the coming weeks.
