Bears Believed To Have “Real” Interest In Chiefs WR Albert Wilson

Adam Jahns of the Sun-Times mentions that it’s his understanding that the Bears’ interest in Chiefs free agent WR Albert Wilson “is real.”

Chiefs GM Brett Veach was asked Thursday if he thought Wilson could leave this offseason.

“Well, [Matt Nagy]’s in Chicago,” Veach said of Wilson, per Patrick Finley.

The Bears could really some more help at receiver and Wilson has obvious ties to new HC Matt Nagy, so this appears to be something to watch in the coming weeks.

Wilson, 25, signed on with the Chiefs as an undrafted free agent out of Georgia State back in 2014. He finished the final year of a three-year, $1,540,000 contract before returning to the Chiefs on a one-year restricted deal worth $1.797 million for the 2017 season.

In 2017, Wilson appeared in 13 games for the Chiefs and caught 42 passes for 554 yards receiving and three touchdowns. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 32 receiver out of 118 qualifying players.

We have him featured in our Top 100  – 2018 NFL Free Agents list.
