Patrick Finley of the Chicago Sun Times reports that Bears C Hroniss Grasu suffered a torn ACL in his right knee on Saturday and will likely miss the entire 2016 season.

The Bears are likely to turn to veteran Ted Larsen or rookie Cody Whitehair as their starting center following the injury to Grasu.

Chicago is almost certain to place him on injured reserve in the coming days, which will free up a roster spot to bring someone in.

Grasu, 24, is a former third-round pick of the Bears in 2015. He’s currently in the second year of his four-year, $3.44 million rookie contract and stands to make a bases salary of $525,000 for the 2016 season.

In 2015, Grasu appeared in eight games for the Bears and was rated as the No. 32 center out of 39 qualifying players by Pro Football Focus.
