Bears Place C Will Montgomery On Season-Ending I.R.

Update:

The Chicago Bears announced Tuesday that they have officially placed C Will Montgomery on season-ending injured reserve.

Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune reports that Bears C Will Montgomery will miss the remainder of the 2015 season with a broken left fibula.

According to Biggs, Montgomery’s injury will require surgery and lead to the Bears placing him on season-ending injured reserve at some point this week.

Should the Bears look to the free agent market for help at center, Biggs lists Brian de la Puente, Dominic Raiola and Samson Satele as potential options for Chicago.

The Bears have lost C Will Montgomery to a broken left fibula, according to Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune.

Montgomery wound up leaving the game with what appeared to be an ankle injury after he was rolled up on from behind. Montgomery was later carted off the field to the locker room.

Montgomery, 32, signed a one-year, $950,000 contract that included $120,000 guaranteed with the Bears back in April.

Chicago moved Matt Slauson to center after Montgomery left and shifted Patrick Omameh to left guard.

It’s very likely that Chicago will place Montgomery on season-ending injured reserve in the coming days and add another lineman.
