Bears Claim CB K’Waun Williams Off Waivers From Browns

The Bears have claimed CB K’Waun Williams off of waivers from the Browns, according to Aaron Leming of Scout.com.

  • The Bears are still awaiting the results from Williams’ physical, which is contingent for him to join their roster.

It was previously reported that Williams was told by an independent specialist that he will need surgery to remove bone spurs from his right ankle. However, Williams and his agent disagreed with the diagnoses.

Williams, 25, wound up signing on with the Browns as an undrafted free agent out of Pittsburgh back in 2014. He’s currently in the final year of his three-year, $1.53 million contract and stands to make a base salary of $600,000 for the 2016 season.

In 2015, Williams appeared in 13 games and recorded 39 tackles, one sack, three forced fumbles, two recoveries and two pass defenses.
