Bears Could Consider Trading RB Matt Forte at Some Point

Dan Pompei of the Chicago Tribunewouldn’t completely rule out” the possibility that the Bears could end up trading RB Matt Forte at some point.

Pompei still sees a trade unlikely, but mentions that Chicago “would be foolish not to consider it,” depending on the offers they get for him.

The biggest obstacle here is finding a team that’s willing to pay Forte the kind of money that he’s looking for, on top of the draft picks that they’d be sending to Chicago. Things don’t look very good right now in regards to Forte showing up for the teams’ training camp, so they could end up seeing what’s available for him on the open market at some point.

  1. I heard Forte is planning on holding out till after week 6, that doesn’t help bears leverage in trade negotiations, I see him going for a second rounder, possibly to the Patriots.

    • Are you serious? You can’t be that big of a Lion homer.

      1. Why would we trade within our own division?

      2. Do you realize how lopsided that trade is? Avril, a 2nd, and a 3rd isn’t worth Forte by himself, let alone Forte and a 2nd.

      Your delusional.
