Bears Cut Their Roster Down To 53

The Chicago Bears officially announced their roster cuts Saturday, as they trimmed their roster down to 53 players.

The list of players either waived or released by the Bears includes:

The Bears also placed S Anthony Jefferson on season-ending injured reserve.

Foster, 26, signed a one-year deal with the Bears back in March with the hope that he could solidify one of their interior linebacker spots. However, it appears as though things didn’t go as planned for him this summer.

Last year, Foster appeared in 10 games and recorded 62 tackles and three pass defenses for the Buccaneers. Pro Football Focus has Foster rated as the No. 43 inside linebacker out of 60 qualifying players.

Rosario, 30, is a former fifth-round pick of the Panthers back in 2007. He’s played for a number of teams since then including the Broncos, Dolphins, Chargers, Cowboys, and Bears.

Chicago re-signed him to a one-year, $870,000 contract back in March.

In 2014, Rosario appeared in all 16 games for Chicago and caught 16 passes for 116 yards receiving and no touchdowns. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the N0. 41 tight end out of 67 qualifying players.

  1. Humm ! A few surprises here as we retain a cache of TE’s yet for odd reasons yet to be seen ! Of the cuts DT Terry Williams is perhaps one I had hoped I would not see on this list ! I really do see him as a guy we can work with and others will steal him if in market or on practice squad in my opinion ! Another guy I like as he just started to show up well and has the size , hands and intangibles to be good down the line is WR Ify Umodu . Now I HOPE he somehow comes back on the 10 man practice squad along with LB Woestmann and WR Lawrence. Ok so next up lets see what the market is for trades as Young is on the block and others and we do badly need an OT better than our current RT !
