———-

Adam Schefter is reporting that the Bears are signing QB Mike Glennon to a three-year, $45 million deal that includes $19 million guaranteed.

———-

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Bears will be finalizing a three-year contract with QB Mike Glennon that will pay him $14.5 million per year.

According to Rapoport, the Bears will still draft a quarterback this year.

The Bears have clearly been the team to watch for Glennon while other teams have reportedly downplayed their interest in him.

This probably seems like a lot for Glennon, but it’s less than Brock Osweiler got from the Texans last year and is the going rate for a starting quarterback. The only question for Chicago is whether they were really bidding against themselves for Glennon’s services.

Glennon, 26, is a former third-round pick of the Buccaneers back in 2013. He’s currently in the final year of his four-year, $3.104 million rookie contract and stands to make a reasonable base salary of $675,000 for the 2016 season.

In 2016, Glennon appeared in two games for the Buccaneers threw for 75 yards while completing 10 of 11 pass attempts to go along with one touchdown and no interceptions.

We have him featured in our Top 100 – 2017 Free Agents list.
