Bears FS Brock Vereen In Line To Start Next Season?

John Mullin of CSN Chicago writes that Brock Vereen has proved himself as the “player to beat out” for the Bears No.1 FS position.

  • Mullin adds that Vereen will start opposite Ryan Mundy.

“Brock has done a nice job,” said defensive coordinator Mel Tucker via CSN Chicago. “He has great attention to detail. He’s very sound from a technique standpoint. He’s smart; he plays fast. He does not make a lot of mistakes. That’s good to see.

Vereen, a 4th round pick in this year’s NFL Draft, has really made an impression on the Bears coaching staff during Craig Steltz and Chris Conte absence due to injuries, therefore Vereen has the upper hand heading into the camp given that he has played with the Bears first- team defensive backfield during workouts.
