Bears TE Zach Miller Out For Season With Broken Foot

Update:

Brad Biggs reports that Bears TE Zach Miller did, in fact, suffer a broken foot during Sunday’s game against the Giants and will miss the remainder of the season.

The Bears will likely place Miller on injured reserve in the coming days and add a tight end to their roster.

Following Sunday’s game, Bears HC John Fox told reporters (per Dan Durkin) that TE Zach Miller suffered a “similar” injury to what he previously had, which was a broken foot.

The Bears are already without WR Alshon Jeffery for four weeks following his suspension, so this would be a huge loss for an injury-riddled offensive unit.

If Miller does, in fact, have a broken foot, it would almost certainly end his 2016 season.

Miller, 32, is a former sixth-round pick of the Jaguars back in 2009. He signed on with the Bears last year and returned to the team on a two-year, $5.5 million contract. The deal includes $3 million guaranteed.

Miller stands to make a base salary of $1.5 million this season and another $1.5 million next year.

Entering today’s game, Miller had appeared in nine games and caught 44 passes for 425 yards receiving and three touchdowns.

We’ll have more regarding Miller’s injury as the news is available.
