Jets Bringing In LB Shea McClellin For A Visit, Could Still Re-Sign With Bears

Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune reports that the Jets are hosting Bears free agent LB Shea McClellin for a visit on Friday.

  • However, Biggs adds that McClellin could still re-sign with the Bears at some point.

Chicago is meeting with Colts free agent ILB Jerrell Freeman today, so it’s not surprising that McClellin would start looking around at potential opportunities.

McClellin, 26, is a former first-round pick of the Bears back in 2012. Chicago declined his fifth-year option, which leaves him as a free agent for the first time in his NFL career.

In 2015, McClellin appeared in 12 games for the Bears and recorded 81 tackles, a forced fumble, a recovery and a pass defense. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 88 linebacker out of 97 qualifying players.
