Bears Officially Hire Chris Tabor As Special Teams Coordinator

The Chicago Bears announced Friday that they’ve hired Chris Tabor as special teams coordinator.

This is Tabor’s second stint with the Bears as he previously worked as an assistant special teams coach under coordinator Dave Toub as part of Lovie Smith’s staff from 2008-10.

Tabor has spent the past seven seasons with the Browns as their special teams coordinator. In total, Tabor’s units have ranked No. 6 in kickoff return average against (21.8), No. 7 in punt return average (9.9), No. 9 in total kick return yards (8,974) and No. 10 in total return yards allowed (7,627) since he was hired in 2011.
