Bears OLB Leonard Floyd Underwent Surgery For Fractured Hand

Bears HC Matt Nagy announced that OLB Leonard Floyd underwent surgery for a right fracture on Sunday.

According to Nagy, they’re still optimistic Floyd can play through the injury and be ready for the start of the regular season.

Floyd, 25, is a former first-round pick of the Bears back in 2016. He’s currently in the second year of his four-year, $15.7 million contract and stands to make base salaries of $1.88 million and $2.6 million over the final two years of the agreement.

Floyd’s contract includes a fifth-year option for Chicago to pick up in 2019.

In 2017, Floyd appeared in 10 games and recorded 35 tackles, 5.5 sacks, a fumble recovery, a safety and two pass defenses for the Bears.
