Bears OLB Willie Young Out For Season With Triceps Injury

Dan Wiederer of the Chicago Tribune is reporting that Bears OLB Willie Young out for the season with triceps injury.

According to Wiederer, Young has a triceps tear that will require surgery and lead to him eventually being placed on injured reserve.

Chicago will move forward with an outside linebacker rotation that consists of Leonard Floyd, Pernell McPhee and Sam Acho. Although, the Wiederer adds that the Bears could promote Isaiah Irving from their practice squad

Young, 32, is a former seventh-round pick of the Lions back in 2010. He spent four years in Detroit before signing on with the Bears in 2014.

Young is currently in the second year of his three-year, $13.55 million contract that included $9 million guaranteed.

In 2017, Young appeared in four games for the Bears and recorded seven tackles and two sacks. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 79 edge rusher out of 95 qualifying players.
