Bears OLB Willie Young Still Wants To Be Traded To A 4-3 Team

Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports reports that Bears OLB Willie Young, who previously requested a traded, still wants to be traded to a 4-3 team, and there a chance he could be dealt ahead of Tuesday’s deadline.

Earlier in the day, La Canfora wrote that Young had been told that he will not be traded, but admitted that this could change as the deadline draws near.

Young, 30, is in the second year of his three-year, $9 million contract that included $3.95 million guaranteed. He stands to make base salaries of $2.45 million in each of the next two years.

According to OverTheCap.com, trading Young would free up $2.5 million in available cap space next year while creating $666,668 in dead money.

This season, Young has appeared in five games recorded just three tackles including one sack for the Bears. In 2014, Young managed to produce 9.5 sacks for Chicago and looked like a great addition.

We’ll have more regarding a potential trade involving Young as the news is available.
