Bears Place First-Round WR Kevin White On PUP List

Bears GM Ryan Pace told reporters on Wednesday that they will place first-round WR Kevin White (shin) and QB David Fales (illness) on the active/physically-unable-to-perform list for the start of training camp.

  • Brad Biggs notes that the Bears want to get White in better cardio shape in the coming weeks.

It’s worth mentioning that this is just a procedural move for the Bears and won’t prevent White from playing in Week 1’s game.

White, 22, was the No. 7 overall selection in this year’s NFL draft and is expected to have a large role in his rookie season now that the Bears sent Brandon Marshall to the Jets.

While Raiders rookie WR Amari Cooper is considered the most NFL-ready of this year’s receiver class, White could very well have the highest ceiling.

During his two years at West Virginia, White caught 144 passes for 1,954 yards receiving and 15 touchdowns.
