Bears Place OLB Pernell McPhee On IR, Promote LB Jonathan Anderson

The Chicago Bears announced Wednesday that they’ve placed OLB Pernell McPhee on injured reserve and promoted LB Jonathan Anderson to their active roster.

  • The Bears also signed WR Mekale McKay to their practice squad.

The Bears’ practice squad now consists of:

  1. OL Brandon Greene
  2. DB Doran Grant
  3. WR Nelson Spruce
  4. G Travis Averill
  5. WR Tanner Gentry
  6. WR Demarcus Ayers
  7. G Will Pericak
  8. TE Colin Thompson
  9. DE Caushaud Lyons
  10. WR Mekale McKay

McPhee, 29, is a former fifth-round pick of the Ravens back in 2011. He spent four years in Baltimore before signing a five-year, $38.75 million contract that included $15.5 million guaranteed back in 2015.

McPhee stands to make base salaries of $6.95 million and $7.2 million over the next two years.

In 2017, McPhee appeared in 13 games for the Bears and recorded 21 tackles, four sacks, a forced fumble and two pass defenses.
