Bears Place Veteran OLB Pernell McPhee On PUP List

The Chicago Bears announced Wednesday night that they’ve placed OLB Pernell McPhee on the physically-unable-to-perform list.

McPhee has dealt with knee injuries since joining the Bears, so it’s likely that Chicago is being extra cautious with him for the start of training camp.

McPhee, 28, is a former fifth-round pick of the Ravens back in 2011. He spent four years in Baltimore before signing a five-year, $38.75 million contract that included $15.5 million guaranteed back in 2015.

McPhee stands to make base salaries of $6.95 million and $7.2 million over the next two years.

In 2016, McPhee appeared in nine games for the Bears and recorded 16 tackles, four sacks, and a forced fumble.
