Bears Place WR Marquess Wilson On Short-Term IR, Re-Sign CB Kelvin Hayden

The Chicago Bears announced Tuesday that they have placed WR Marquess Wilson on injured reserve with the designation to return and re-signed CB Kelvin Hayden.

Wilson, 21, unfortunately suffered a broken collarbone close to a month ago and has already undergone surgery. Since then the Bears have signed veteran WR Santonio Holmes to take his place for the time being.

Last season, Wilson appeared in nine games, but caught just two passes for 13 yards.

Hayden, 31, re-signed with the Bears back in February, but he was among the team’s final roster cuts this past weekend. Last year, he unfortunately suffered a season-ending hamstring tear that led to Chicago placing him on injured reserve.

In 2012, Hayden appeared in all 16 games for the Bears and totaled 37 tackles and four fumble recoveries. He graded out as the No. 72 cornerback in the league that season, according to Pro Football Focus.
