Bears Officially Place G Kyle Long On Injured Reserve

The Chicago Bears officially placed Pro Bowl G Kyle Long on injured reserve with an ankle injury on Wednesday.

It was previously reported that Long was expected to miss the remainder of the 2016 season after sustaining the injury, so this move doesn’t come as much of a surprise.

Long was carted off to the locker room after he had an air cast applied to his injured ankle. Long was, unfortunately, rolled up on from behind.

Long, 27,  was entering the third year of a four-year, $8,300,952 contract when the Bears signed him to a four-year extension worth $40 million with another $30 million guaranteed back in September.

In 2016, Long appeared in seven games for the Bears  and is rated by Pro Football Focus as the No. 23 guard out of 81 qualifying players.
