Bears Promoting WR Tre McBride To Active Roster

The Chicago Bears announced that they’ve promoted WR Tre McBride to their active roster on Monday and signed LB Jason Thompson to their practice squad.

The Bears’ practice squad now consists of:

  • OL Brandon Greene
  • DL Rashaad Coward
  • LB Isaiah Irving
  • OL Cameron Lee
  • TE Ben Braunecker (Exception)
  • WR Mario Alford
  • NT Mike Purcell
  • WR Tanner Gentry
  • DB Doran Grant
  • WR Tre McBride
  • LB Jason Thompson

McBride, 24, is a former seventh-round pick of the Titans back in May of 2015 He was unable to make the 53-man roster coming out of the preseason, but was later signed to the team’s practice squad before later being promoted at the end of the year.

The Titans elected to cut McBride loose coming out of the preseason before signing him to their practice squad, and eventually promoting him to their active roster. After the Titans waived him coming out of the preseason, McBride was claimed off of waivers by the Bears.

Unfortunately, Chicago elected to cut him loose in the past few weeks and alter signed him to their practice squad.

In 2017, McBride has appeared in one game for the Bears but has yet to record a statistic.
