Bears QB Brian Hoyer Suffers Broken Left Arm, Could Still Return This Season

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that Bears QB Brian Hoyer specifically broke his radius during Thursday night’s loss to the Packers.

According to Rapoport, surgery for Hoyer is considered likely at this point in time, but there’s still a chance he could return to the team later on in the season.

Tracy Wolfson reported during the Thursday night telecast that Hoyer suffered a broken left arm.

Hoyer was taken to the locker room with what appeared to be a left arm injury during the second quarter of Thursday night’s game against the Bears. He was attempting to make a throw when he was hit by Packers OLBs Julius Peppers and Clay Matthews when he landed on his left arm.

Matt Barkley replaced Hoyer as the team’s starting quarterback for the remainder of the game.

Hoyer, 30, signed a one-year, $2 million contract with the Bears back in April after he was released by the Texans. He’ll be an unrestricted free agent next year.

Entering tonight’s game, Hoyer has thrown for 1,396 yards while completing 68.8 percent of his passes to go along with four touchdowns and six interceptions.
