Four Teams After Free Agent OT Jake Long?

Update:

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that there’s a hot market developing for offensive tackle Jake Long.

“As it turns out, he is going to be very sought after in this market,” reports Schefter, via Rotoworld.

Schefter specifically mentioned the Bears, Eagles, Rams, and Dolphins as interested parties.

Previous reports indicated that Long could be seeking as much as $11 million annually. Numerous reports have mentioned the Bears as a landing spot, so it will be interesting to see if they’re willing to offer him a market value contract.

We have him listed as the No. 9 best available player in our Top 50 Free Agents list.

Mike Garafolo tweets that the Bears and Rams are “believed to be among the most interested” teams in free agent OT Jake Long.

Jason Cole added that the Chargers have “a little” interest in Long.

With so many available options at offensive tackle this year, it’s going to be hard for Long to walk away with a huge contract. Teams can always wait for the asking price to come down before getting aggressive with their offers.

Long, 27, is coming off of an injury as well, and his overall play has dipped a bit in recent years, so the Bears and Rams might be able to get him cheaper by waiting a little bit. The Dolphins could also be in play at the right price.
