Adam Jahns reports that the Bears are re-signing WR Tanner Gentry to their practice squad now that he has cleared waivers on Wednesday.

The Bears’ practice squad now consists of:

  1. OL Brandon Greene
  2. DL Rashaad Coward
  3. DB DeAndre Houston-Carson
  4. LB Isaiah Irving
  5. LB John Timu (Exception)
  6. OL Cameron Lee
  7. TE Ben Braunecker (Exception)
  8. WR Mario Alford
  9. RB Josh Rounds
  10. WR Tanner Gentry

Gentry, 23, wound up signing a three-year, $1.66 million contract with the Bears as an undrafted free agent out of Wyoming back in May. He was set to make base salaries of $465,000 and $555,000 over the first two years of the contract when the Bears cut him loose coming out of the preseason and later signed him to their practice squad.

Chicago promoted Gentry to their active roster last week after they lost Kevin White for the season only to cut him loose a few days later.

In 2017, Gentry has appeared in one game and caught two passes for 27 yards receiving and no touchdowns.

During his college career, Gentry caught 180 passes for 2,815 yards receiving and 20 touchdowns over the course of 42 games.
