Report: Bears Release TE Dante Rosario

Update:

Alex Marvez reports that the Chicago Bears have released TE Dante Rosario on Monday.

This is somewhat surprising given that they just signed him to a one-year deal a few weeks ago. Apparently their situation has changed and no longer saw him as being worthy of his new salary.

The Chicago Bears have announced that they have reached an agreement with TE Dante Rosario on one-year contract.

Rosario, 29, signed a one-year deal with the Cowboys last June, but only lasted until September before Dallas shipped him off to the Bears in exchange for a conditional seventh-round pick.

Rosario appeared in 15 games last season, but only managed to catch one pass for 13 yards. He should get an opportunity to compete for the team’s backup tight end role next season.
