Bears Release DT D’Anthony Smith

The Chicago Bears officially released DT D’Anthony Smith on Monday.

Smith, 27, is a former third-round pick of the Jaguars back in 2010. He was later traded to the Seahawks for a conditional draft pick that never met the required conditions.

Smith briefly played for the Lions in 2013 before re-joining the Seahawks just one month later. Seattle elected to re-sign Smith back in March of last year, but he was among their roster cuts at the start of the season.

The Bears signed him to a contract in October.

In 2015, Smith appeared in two games for the Bears and recorded a single tackle and no sacks.
