Bears Release G Earl Watford

Albert Breer reports that the Bears are releasing veteran G Earl Watford after they were unable to trade him this weekend.

The Bears have already announced the move:

Watford, 28, is a former fourth-round pick of the Cardinals back in 2013. He played out his rookie contract with Arizona before signing a two-year, $5 million contract with the Jaguars back in March of last year.

Unfortunately, Jacksonville cut Watford at the start of the 2017 season and he later returned to the Cardinals midseason and finished out the year in Arizona.

Watford signed a one-year contract with the Bears this offseason.

In 2017, Watford appeared in 10 games for the Cardinals and was rated by Pro Football Focus as the No. 74 offensive tackle out of 77 qualifying players.
