Bears Release LB Sam Acho From NFI List, Promote LB Lamin Barrow

The Chicago Bears have released veteran LB Sam Acho from the non-football illness list on Saturday, according to the NFL transactions release.

  • The Bears also promoted LB Lamin Barrow off of their practice squad.

Acho, 27, is a former fourth-round pick of the Cardinals back in 2011. He played out his four-year, $2,514,428 rookie contract with the Cardinals and signed on with the Bears this past April.

Acho was set to make a base salary of $745,000 for the 2015 season.

In 2014, Acho appeared in all 16 games for Arizona and recorded 31 tackles, one sack, an interception and three pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 28 outside linebacker in a 3-4 defense out of 46 qualifying players.

  1. That just don’t sound too smart on the surface to me ! Acho was a bright spot during the pre-season and a team leader in the locker room ! So why him ? Barrow is another Denver guy but just that and nothing special to his credit so the move is still off track somehow and I for one do not like it !
