The Chicago Bears announced that they have terminated the contract of P Adam Podlesh on Wednesday.
Podlesh, 30, still had two years remaining on his five-year, $10 million contract. He would have made $1.4 million for the 2014 season and counted $1.825 million against their salary cap.
Chicago will save $1.025 million by releasing him, according to OverTheCap.com.
Pro Football Focus has Podlesh rated as the worst qualifying punter in the league last season.
