Brad Biggs reports that the Bears have informed veteran DE Jaye Howard that his contract will be terminated.
Howard, 28, is a former fourth-round pick of the Seahawks back in 2012. He lasted just over a year in Seattle before he was waived and later claimed off of waivers by the Chiefs.
Howard re-signed with Kansas City last year and was in the final year of his two-year, $10 million contract and set to make a base salary of $3.7 million for the 2017 season when the Chiefs cut him loose.
The Bears signed Hoard to a contract a few days after this year’s draft.
In 2016, Howard appeared in eight games for the Chiefs and recorded 24 tackles, one sack and a forced fumble. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 55 interior defensive lineman out of 127 qualifying players.
