Jeff Dickerson of ESPN Chicago reports that the Bears hosted free agent WR Eddie Royal for a visit on Tuesday.

According to Dickerson, several teams have expressed interest in Royal up to this point, but the Bears are seen as the “clear front-runner” to sign him.

Royal, 28, is a former second-round pick of the Broncos. He signed a three-year contract with the Chargers back in March of 2012.

Last year, he appeared in all 16 games and caught 62 passes for 778 yards receiving and seven touchdowns. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 43 receiver out of 110 qualifying players.

Rolle, 32, appeared in all 16 games for the Giants in 2014 and recorded 87 tackles, three interceptions, a forced fumble, a recovery and eight pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 81 safety out of 87 qualifying players.

We have Royal listed as the No. 78 player in our Top 100 Free Agents list.
