Bears Rule Out QB Jay Cutler & WR Alshon Jeffery For Week 3

The Chicago Bears announced Friday that they will be without both starting QB Jay Cutler and WR Alshon Jeffery for Week 3’s game against the Seahawks.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter previously reported that Cutler would miss “at least” two weeks with a hamstring injury.

This, of course, means that Chicago will start Jimmy Clausen in Sunday’s match up with the Seahawks.

Cutler, 32, is in the second year of his seven-year, $126.7 million contract that included $54 million guaranteed. He stands to make base salaries of $15.5 million (2015), $16 million (2016), $12.5 million (2017) $13.5 million (2018), and $17.5 million (2019).

This season, Cutler has completed 57.8 percent of his passes to go along with 345 yards receiving, two touchdowns and two interceptions.

Jeffery has been dealing with a hamstring injury of his own. This season, Jeffery has caught five passes for 78 yards receiving and no touchdowns this season.
