Bears Rumors: Tim Jennings, Marion Barber, Roy Williams

Tim Jennings

ESPN Chicago reports that Chicago Bears have yet to contact CB Tim Jennings out a possible contract extension to remain with the team.

Jennings is reportedly looking for a “significant raise” this offseason so there’s actually a chance that Chicago will allow him to leave instead of committing a huge salary to him.

Jennings’ agent seemed to be suggesting that something was close in the past few weeks but still nothing of substance to report just yet.

Marion Barber

ESPN Chicago reports that RB Marion Barber is a “prime candidate to be released” at some point during the offseason.

Barber was decent around the goalline but his infamous fumble and dumbfounding run out of bounds. Barber has 2012 salary cap figure of $2.25 million and the emergence of Kahlil Bell should make him more than expendable. .

Roy Williams

Chicago hasn’t approached WR Roy Williams about a new contract either so too figures to be playing elsewhere or possible in retirement next season, via ESPN Chicago.

Jerry Angelo reportedly wanTed Williams back but things have changed quite considerably since then so I’d be surprised to see Phil Emery contact him about returning.

  1. Jennings is at best a Nickle Back, and definitely doesn’t deserve that kind of raise, and Williams and Barber both got out performed by cheaper younger players…Be Gone!!
