Bears Sign First-Round OLB Leonard Floyd To A Four-Year Deal

The Chicago Bears announced Friday that they’ve agreed to terms with first-round OLB Leonard Floyd.

This leaves third-round DT Jonathan Bullard as the last remaining 2016 draft pick to sign his rookie contract.

Floyd, 23, was taken with the No. 9 overall pick by the Bears. There was talk that Floyd was atop the Giants’ draft board, which explains why the Bears elected to move up ahead of New York and grab him.

According to OverTheCap.com, Floyd receives a four-year contract worth $15,782,990 to go along with a signing bonus of $9,678,536. The contract includes a fifth-year option for the team to consider in 2019.

During his three years at Georgia, Floyd recorded 182 tackles, 26.5 tackles for a loss, 17 sacks, five forced fumbles, two recoveries and four pass defenses.
