Bears Sign G Matt Slauson

Brad Biggs is reporting that the Chicago Bears have signed G Matt Slauson to a one-year deal.

Slauson, previously with the Jets, figures to replace Lance Louis who just recently signed with the Miami Dolphins.

Previous reports indicated that Slauson could be an option for the Cowboys, but they chose to sign S Will Allen and LB Justin Durant instead.

Last year, Slauson graded out as a slightly above average interior lineman for the Jets, according to Pro Football Focus. He was also much more effective in pass protection, than as a run-blocker. He becomes the third addition to the Bears offensive line after they signed Jermon Bushrod and Jonathan Scott.
