Bears Sign LB Terrell Manning To Practice Squad, Release WR Greg Herd

The Chicago Bears announced Friday that they have signed LB Terrell Manning to their practice squad and released WR Greg Herd.

Manning, 24, has recently spent short stints with the Dolphins and Giants, but he was cut loose earlier in the week by Miami. The Packers actually drafted him in the fifth round of the 2012 draft, although he lasted just one year with the team.

Last year, Manning appeared in just one game for the Chargers and didn’t record any stats. In total, Manning has appeared in six total games since entering the NFL.

Herd, 23, signed with the Cowboys as an undrafted free agent out of Eastern Washington last year. He later signed on with the Seahawks before he was waive/injured in August of last year. Chicago signed him to their practice squad a little over a week ago.
