Bears Sign QB Trent Edwards

The Chicago Bears have announced the signing of free agent QB Trent Edwards.

The Bears subsequently waived WR Jerrell Jackson to make room for Edwards who will more than likely compete along with fellow free agent pickup Jordan Palmer who was signed yesterday. The Bears had previously worked out the pair along with JaMarcus Russell earlier this summer.

The signing of both Palmer and Edwards comes days after sixth round pick Matt Blanchard had been diagnosed with a fractured knuckle. It will be interesting to see how many quarterbacks the Bears carry into the season.
