Mike Garafolo of NFL Media is reporting that the Bears are signing veteran CB Prince Amukamara to a contract on Friday.
- Tom Pelissero reports that Amukamara’s contract is a one-year, $7 million deal that’s fully guaranteed.
Amukamara, 27, is a former first-round pick of the Giants back in 2011. After five years with the Giants, Amukamara signed a one-year, $5 million contract with the Giants.
Amukamara was testing the open market as an unrestricted free agent for the second time in as many seasons.
In 2016, Amukamara appeared in 14 games for the Jaguars and recorded 49 tackles, no interceptions and six pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 42 cornerback out of 112 qualifying players.
