Bears Signing OT Nate Chandler

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Bears are signing OT Nate Chandler to a contract.

The Bears apparently brought in Chandler along with veteran OT Jake Long for workouts on Thursday. However, it appears as though Chandler was the more impressive of the two.

Chandler just recently visited with the Lions, but ultimately left Detroit without a contract. Before that, Chandler met with the Buccaneers.

Chandler, 26, signed on with the Panthers as an undrafted free agent out of UCLA back in 2012. He wound up signing a three-year extension with the Panthers back in 2014, but was unfortunately released by Carolina in a move that freed up $1.3 million in available cap space.

Last year, Chandler wound up missing the entire 2015 season due to a knee injury that led to him being placed on season-ending injured reserve.
