Bears Signing QB David Fales Off Ravens’ Practice Squad

Mike Garafolo of NFL Media reports that the Bears are signing QB David Fales from the Ravens’ practice squad on Tuesday following the injury to QB Jay Cutler.

The Bears are still likely to start Matt Barkley for the foreseeable future. However, Fales should serve as the team’s No. 2 quarterback with Josh Woodrum remaining on their practice squad.

Fales, 25, was taken in the sixth-round of the Bears back in 2014. He was unable to make the 53-man roster coming out of the season during his rookie season and bounced on and off Chicago’s practice squad before becoming one of their final roster cuts this year.

Fales has been on and off of the Ravens’ practice squad throughout the season but he was just re-signed to the unit this past weekend.

Fales has yet to appear in an NFL game.
