Bears Signing TE MyCole Pruitt Off Of Vikings’ Practice Squad, Waive DB De’Vante Bausby

The Chicago Bears are signing TE MyCole Pruitt off of the Vikings’ practice squad on Tuesday, according to Jim Thomas.

  • Zach Zaidman reports that the Bears also waived DB De’Vante Bausby.

Pruitt, 24, was taken in the fifth-round of last year’s NFL draft. He’s currently in the second year of his four-year, $2.51 million contract and set to make a base salary of $615,000 for the 2016 season.

The Vikings elected to cut him loose last month to make room for QB Taylor Heinicke, who was activated from the non-football-injury list before later signing him to their practice squad.

In 2016, Pruitt has appeared in two games and caught one pass for seven yards receiving and no touchdowns.

Bausby, 23, originally signed on with the Chiefs as an undrafted free agent out of Pittsburgh State back in May of last year. He lasted just over a month in Kansas City before he waived and later signed to the Bears’ practice squad.

Chicago elected to bring him back on a future/reserve contract but he was once again added to their practice squad after being among their final roster cuts. The Bears promoted him to their active roster last month.

In 2016, Bausby has appeared in three games and recorded 12 tackles and no interceptions.
