Bears Signing WR Bennie Fowler

Adam Schefter reports that the Bears are signing former Broncos WR Bennie Fowler to a one-year contract on Friday.

Fowler, 26, wound up signing on with the Broncos as an undrafted free agent out of Michigan State in May of 2014. He wasn’t able to make the 53-man roster during his rookie season, but later wound up on their practice squad and returned on a future/reserve contract.

The Broncos brought Fowler back on one-year exclusive rights deals each of the past two years. However, Denver declined to tender him a contract as a restricted free agent this offseason, making him an unrestricted free agent.

In 2017, Fowler appeared in all 16 games for the Broncos and caught 29 passes for 350 yards receiving and three touchdowns.
