Colts & Eagles Making “Strong Push” To Sign WR Alshon Jeffery, Still In Talks With Bears

Ian Rapoport reports that the Colts and Eagles are making a strong push to sign WR Alshon Jeffery. However, the Bears are still in talks with Jeffery right now.

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media is reporting that the Bears and WR Alshon Jeffery continue to have discussions regarding a new contract, but Jeffery has offers from other teams.

  • Brad Biggs reports that other teams believe the Bears are offering Jeffery $13 million per year.

The 49ers have come up as a potential landing spot for Jeffery in recent days.

Jeffery, 26, was taken in the second-round of the 2012 NFL draft by the Bears. He played out the final year of his four-year, $4.54 million rookie contract that included a $1.74 million signing bonus before receiving the team’s franchise tag.

In 2016, Jeffery appeared in 12 games and caught 52  passes for 821 yards receiving and two touchdowns for the Bears. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 33 receiver out of 115 qualifying players.
